The United States and Ukraine have signed a landmark minerals deal amid the ongoing war with Russia. This agreement grants the U.S. preferential access to Ukraine’s valuable mineral resources. It also establishes a joint investment fund to help rebuild Ukraine after the conflict ends.

The signing coincided with intensified Russian drone attacks in Ukraine, including strikes in Kherson and Odesa that killed at least nine people. These attacks underline the ongoing violence despite diplomatic efforts.
