Lidl has issued an urgent recall for four varieties of its Alesto Raw Fruit & Nut Bars in the Cocoa and Orange, Salted Caramel and Berries, and Blueberry Muffins. The recall was issued following the discovery that these items may contain plastic components, making them unsafe to eat.
Because of the possible presence of plastic foreign particles, the snack bars may pose a choking hazard to consumers. It affects the product, including all stock with the best before date of December 2025 with batch code L24337. The products whose packaging was completed best-before date of November 2025 with batch code L24316.
According to the FSA (Food Standards Agency), any consumer who has purchased the snack bars can return them to the store where they were bought. The consumers can avail of a full refund, and they are warned not to consume that product.
Lidl’s recall notice said that they apologise for any inconvenience caused, and the team is conveying thanks to the consumers for their cooperation. They also added that for any queries, the customers can contact the Customer Care at customer.care@lidl.co.uk or 0203 966 5566.
Lidl has confirmed that its other Alesto range products (not mentioned before) are not affected by the recall. Generally, the FSA issues an alert when any issues arise with certain food products. Problems may include contamination with pathogens causing food poisoning, or manufacturing issues such as containing plastic particles in the product. The FSA issues an alert on certain products for consumers not to purchase those products.
Point-of-sale notices have been displayed in all Lidl stores offering these products to inform consumers about the recall and the return process.
