McDonald’s Goes Big with New Big Arch Burger and Exciting Menu Updates

McDonald’s has launched a brand-new burger called the Big Arch, now available in the UK and several international markets. The Big Arch is designed to satisfy customers with a serious appetite, offering a larger and bolder option than the classic Big Mac.

The Big Arch features two 100% British and Irish beef patties, making it almost twice as large as a regular Big Mac. It comes with three slices of white cheddar cheese, crispy onions, fresh onions, shredded lettuce, crunchy pickles, and a brand new signature Big Arch sauce. All of this is served on a unique poppy and sesame seed-topped bun, adding to its distinctive look and flavour.

This burger is being promoted as the answer to “Big McDonald’s Hunger,” a campaign theme developed by Leo Burnett UK. The campaign highlights those moments when only a truly substantial meal will do. The Big Arch is described as a two-handed, multi-napkin experience, perfect for customers who want more than the usual order.

Ben Fox, McDonald’s UK & Ireland Chief Marketing Officer, called the Big Arch “the most exciting burger we’ve launched in a generation.” He said it gives customers exactly what they’ve been asking for – extra meat, cheese and a new sauce. Fox added, “As a Big Mac fan, it takes a lot to tempt me away from my favourite, but the Big Arch and its signature sauce certainly does”.

The Big Arch is not just about size. According the Thomas O’Neill, Head of Menu at McDonald’s UK & Ireland, “Anew iconic burger needs an equally iconic sauce, and we’ve taken it up a notch with the Big Arch. With double layers of beef, crispy onions and the hero of the build, our signature sauce, every bite is crafted to hit the spot to satisfy serious McDonald’s hunger. Big bold and packed with serious deliciousness.”

Alongside the Big Arch, McDonald’s new menu for June 2025 includes several other items. There is a Toffee Crisp McFlurry, which mixes McFlurry ice cream with Toffee Crisp pieces and toffee sauce. The Toffee Apple Pie returns, offering a crispy pastry filled with toffee-flavoured apple filling. Fan favourites like the Cheesy McCrispy, Halloumi Fries, and the Katsu Chicken One are also back due to popular demand.

The Big Arch is currently available in the UK, Portugal and Canada. It is being sold for a higher price than the Big Mac, reflecting its larger size and premium ingredients. Fans in other countries are already calling for a wider release, with many praising its flavour and size, some even declaring it better than the Big Mac.

The Big Arch is available in restaurants and through McDelivery, but only for a limited time. McDonald’s hopes this new burger will become a future classic and permanent fixture on its menu.
