Spar and Tesco Cheese Recalled due to potential contamination: UK consumers who have purchased Irish blended cheese are recommended to return specific JOD Food Products that expire in May 2025 because they may contain the dangerous pathogen Listeria monocytogenes. The items are offered for sale at Tesco and Spar, among other supermarkets.
The cheese maker, JOD Food Products, believes that Listeria monocytogenes, a pathogen that can cause severe disease, may be present in the recalled products.
A comprehensive list of the 18 recalled products has been released by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), which claims that the recall was brought on by the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes.
A high fever, chills, muscle pains, nausea, and diarrhoea are some of the flu-like symptoms of a listeria infection, the FSA has warned. Rarely, the infection may worsen and cause meningitis and other problems.
The impacted products should not be consumed, and customers should return them to the store in their original packaging for a complete refund. Those who require additional information can get in touch with JOD Food Products directly.
The FSA is in charge of notifying authorities and the public about food safety issues in the UK by issuing product recall information notices.
