Why is the PlayStation Network down?
Sony has not yet explained. Sony has not yet revealed the reason behind the outage or given an estimated timeframe for when services will be fully restored.
Regarding whether the interruption was caused by maintenance, technical difficulties, or other causes, no additional information has been provided. Users are encouraged to visit PlayStation’s official website for more information, as the crisis is still ongoing.
A malicious hack or any other underlying issue that results in an outage lasting days or perhaps weeks would be Sony’s worst nightmare.
When will PlayStation servers be back up?
How many individuals are impacted, what caused the outage and when the service might return online are all unknown at this time. Some service interruptions may only last a few hours, but others may persist for several hours and cause erratic connection quality even after the network is restored.
All online services are currently listed as unavailable on the PlayStation status page. And thus far, this appears to be one of the most significant disruptions that PSN has experienced recently.
Shortly after 6:00 p.m. ET, players began reporting being disconnected, and as of right now, there is no indication that anyone can reconnect. Additionally, it seems that the outage is global in scope rather than limited to specific nations or continents.
