Morrisons has made public the precise dates on which 17 of its Morrisons Daily convenience stores will close. Last month, the grocery chain revealed that, as part of a significant reorganisation, it would close 17 of its smaller locations and 52 of its in-store cafès.
Morrisons also announced that several of its pharmacies, florists, meat and fish counters, and hot food counters will be closing throughout its chain of grocery stores.
Morrisons attributed the decision to the government’s increase in employers’ national insurance and this month’s minimum wage increases.
The supermarket giant did not disclose which stores would be affected at the time. The complete list of the 17 convenience stores that will close, however, has finally been made public.
Additionally, it has been disclosed that this month will see the permanent closure of all of them. On Wednesday, April 16, next week, all of the stores will close. The Haxby Morrisons Daily store is the only exception to this rule; it will close on May 14, one month later.
