Greggs announces a huge menu shake-up with new burgers. The UK bakery business- Greggs is going to take a big leap forward to compete with fast-food behemoths like McDonald’s and KFC with the launching of the Greggs Chicken Burger menu.
Customers will have a southern fried chicken goujon wrap for £3.80 and a BBQ crispy chicken burger for £4 from February 6, 2025. As part of Greggs’ Hot Sandwich Deal, these products will be introduced in 150 stores first before rolling out to 300.
On its new menu, there will include a southern fried chicken goujon wrap and a BBQ crispy chicken burger. In addition, Greggs is bringing back its Cinnamon drink line and iconic dishes such as the Katsu Chicken Bake and Cherry Bakewell Muffin.
The biggest players in Britain’s fast food chain are now against a new competitor that nobody is expecting: Greggs offers burgers and wraps in its new menu, creating excitement among most people. Two of the menu items include a southern fried chicken goujon wrap and the BBQ crispy chicken burger.
A ‘new twist’ on an old classic, the £4 BBQ crispy burger is a chicken breast covered in crispy crumbs, salad leaves, BBQ sauce and mayonnaise, all wrapped inside a soft corn top roll.
The BBQ Chicken Wrap, on the other hand, costs a cool £3.80 and comes with Greggs’ Southern Fried Chicken Goujons, salad leaves, tomato, and cucumber. It is wrapped in a soft tortilla wrap and topped with BBQ sauce and mayonnaise. Both are included in the Hot Sandwich Deal, which costs just £4.95 and comes with a hot sandwich, wedges or side salad, and a drink.
The two new, tasty offerings are joined by the brand-new Crispy Chicken Bites, which consists of soft chicken pieces covered in breadcrumbs and are being tested in a few Birmingham supermarkets.
Even though this new menu is only available at a few locations in the UK, Gregg plans to take it to more than 300 locations by spring. A ‘new twist’ on an old favourite, the £4 BBQ crispy burger features chicken breast coated in crispy crumbs, salad leaves, with BBQ sauce and mayonnaise.
Contrary to this, the McCrispy BBQ smokehouse from McDonald’s costs the customer a shocking £6.49. Meanwhile, Greggs has announced several returning classics for the country. Some of the returnees are £2.10 Japanese-inspired Katsu Chicken Bake and Cherry Bakewell Muffin costing £4, which returns for those with a sweet tooth.
The Cinnamon Flat White and Cinnamon Swirl Latte, starting at £2.75 for a regular, will also return to the hot drink menu of Greggs.
Iced options will also be available, but in the form of the Over Ice Cinnamon Latte, starting from £3.10. This is hot on the heels of Gregg’s May release of its first-ever fish finger sandwich, which set the fans ablaze. The Fish Finger Sandwich (£3.90) is a childhood favourite made with a lightly battered cod fillet fish, iceberg lettuce, and a soft-cornered top roll.
A sausage roll was up for the second time in six months, and it infuriated lovers of Greggs. In January, the bakery business raised the cost of its traditional savoury pastry by 5p, making it to £1.30 at current times. The price went up from £1.20 to £1.25 in July; it marked the second increase in less than a year.
Furthermore, the price of a cup of coffee has risen to £1.70. A mouth-watering BBQ Chicken Wrap at £3.80 will include Greggs’ Southern Fried Chicken Goujons, salad leaves, tomato, and cucumber, with BBQ sauce and mayonnaise on top.
The two tasty additions are being joined by the brand-new Crispy Chicken Bites, which are soft chicken pieces covered in breadcrumbs. In total, the cost of a Greggs’ banger has risen by an astonishing 30% since 2022, when it was only £1.
