There have been multiple leaks and forecasts about the next iPhone 17 lineup, and the rumours are still going strong. In September, Apple may reveal its upcoming flagship series.
Although there is still no official information available, one item that has captured the interest of all iPhone enthusiasts is the possibility that the tech giant could discontinue its Pro Max model with the future iPhone 17.
Rather, the business intends to include the iPhone 17 Ultra in its next lineup. The iPhone environment would be completely changed if this potentially revolutionary update were to be released. Know the most recent rumours and leaks about the Apple iPhone 17 Ultra.
Here is what we currently know about the iPhone 17 Ultra:
The iPhone 17 Ultra may be Apple’s replacement for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, according to prominent tipster Yeux1122. Regarding previous iPhone models, similar rumours have been heard during the release of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16, but nothing turned out to be accurate.
Even now, rumours and leaks indicate that the business may release the iPhone 17 Ultra with a number of improvements and changes.
According to Yeux1122, the iPhone 17 Ultra will have a larger battery, vapour chamber, and smaller dynamic island. These capabilities will only be available on the iPhone 17 Ultra and won’t be available on any other iPhone 17 variants.
But in October, expert Jeff Pu asserted that the iPhone 17 Pro Max would have a more condensed Dynamic Island. According to him, Apple is trying to change marketing and sales by altering iOS 19 and making a significant design modification to the current iPhone.
The Ultra will probably use a smaller Dynamic Island, for example, because there aren’t enough orders to support both the Pro and Ultra. According to the rumour, the Ultra would have a bigger battery than the Pro Max from the previous year and be the only one to have a vapour chamber cooling mechanism.
Though it might seem excessive to some, bear in mind that Apple has been using the Ultra label for certain of its devices, such as the M3 Ultra chip and the Apple Watch Ultra.
Furthermore, providing an iPhone Ultra with a significant hardware upgrade allows Apple to raise the phone’s price and possibly boost profit margins.
The iPhone 17 Air will have a 6.6-inch screen, putting it in between the smaller Pro and larger Pro Max variants, according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. According to reports, Apple contemplated a larger 6.9-inch screen but decided against it because of possible bending problems.
Gurman claims that thanks to improved power efficiency and redesigned internal components, the device will have a battery life comparable to that of current iPhones despite its thinner profile.
High-end features like a ProMotion 120Hz display and the Camera Control button are anticipated to be included in the Air model, which will compromise with a single rear camera and a standard A19 chip instead of the Pro variant.
The dummy units support earlier design rumours about the phone, such as the Dynamic Island cutout at the top of the display and thin bezels resembling those of the iPhone 16 Pro series.
Except the vanilla iPhone 17, which retains the pill-shaped module similar to the iPhone 16, the dummies also display a phone-spanning camera hump on the majority of iPhone 17 versions.
Gurman recommends the Air model, which is expected to cost approximately $900. If successful, this might lead to totally port-free iPhones and perhaps affect Apple’s rumored foldable smartphone planned by 2026.
