After signing a secret Mutual Aid agreement North Korea is believed to have sent somewhat around 18 North Korean soldiers were deployed at the Russian, but they have reported to have deserted the Russian frontline, with Kremlin forces are now searching for them according to the Ukraine public broadcaster, Suspilne.
North Korea and Russia are now secretly aligned with each other to fight the war against Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un, the North Korean supreme leader, secretly signed an agreement.
There is a good chance that agreement North Korea is transverting Ammunition and missiles to Russia as well as personnel to fight the war against Ukraine alongside Russia.
Now, that around 18 North Korean troops deserting Ukraine raised a serious concern.
The troops had been stationed in Russia’s Kursk and Bryansk regions, which are almost four miles from the Ukrainian border, and it is believed this was most likely when they fled.
Intelligence sources say the Russian military is attempting to keep the desertion of the troops hidden from higher authorities, as it will raise concerns and misconceptions.
These developments come among the reports that Russia has been planning to form a battalion of North Korean soldiers to reinforce its efforts against Ukrainian forces in Kursk.
Then to confirm the alignment between Russia and North Korea, Ukrainian news outlet LIGA revealed that the North Korean soldiers were there in Ukraine to participate in combat missions in southern Russia, where the fight against the Ukrainian invasion continues.
Also, Liga mentioned that the troops were set to form a “special Buryat battalion,” and the term refers to the Buryat people, a Mongolic ethnic group from Siberia, China and northern Mongolia.
Fighting a war against Ukraine is a high-risk operation hence the agreement to which North Korea sent thousands of troops is a huge help for Russia.
Not only that it’s, the first time in 24 years, that Russia made any contact with North Korea.
Putin and Kim Jong Un signed a “comprehensive strategic partnership” and it mirrors NATO’s Article 5, stating that an attack on one is considered an attack on both.
Last, week by asking the about the North Korean troops deployment by the lawmakers at the Parliamentary Audit, Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun said it was highly likely that North Korean soldiers were being deployed to Russia.
He also showed the previous reports of North Korean troop casualties in Ukraine.
North Korea has been a significant ally of Rasiya in the war against Ukraine, which began in February 2022.
Understanding all these the US has accused North Korea of delivering artillery products to Russia. However, both Moscow and Pyongyang deny the claims.
