Counting has started for the US election 2024 result. The former president is ahead with 230 votes, meanwhile, Kamala Harris trails with 209.
Republican candidate Donald Trump won 26 states including Florida, Indiana, Montana Texas, Kentucky, and more. Meanwhile, Democrat Kamala Harris bagged only 19 states as early projections started streaming in.
The ballot counting is underway in the remaining counties. Trump has also won swing states in North Carolina and leading in others, so he appears to be heading towards the presidency.
However, Kamala Harris may still defeat him even if she falls short in these two states with 270 electoral college votes.
By winning Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, Kamala may achieve a victory in the American election results. Harris won the non-swing states that Joe Biden won in the 2020 Presidential election.

Nationally, there are a total of 538 electoral votes, which means a candidate needs to secure 270 to win the American election in 2024.
