Sean Diddy Combs, a rapper and music mogul, has been arrested on unspecified federal charges, according to the US attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY).
The 54-year-old rapper and music mogul was arrested at the Park Hyatt hotel in New York. According to a representative, although it is not clear what charges he has been arrested,
This arrest in Mannathan follows raids on two of Sean Diddy’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami in March. The raid was part of an ongoing investigation into sex trafficking by authorities.
Mr. Combs’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said they were disappointed by the arrest and added that his client was an innocent man. The rapper has faced a series of allegations from sexual assault to abuse.
Moreover, there is an allegation of his ex-partner Casandra Cassie Ventura. But the musician has denied all the allegations against him.
His arrest was made in connection with an ongoing investigation by the US Homeland Security officials, many law enforcement sources told the BBC’s US partner CBS.
Damian Williams, US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, has confirmed the arrest in a statement on Monday night.
Combs’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo said that he was disappointed with the decision to pursue what they believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the US Attorney’s office.
The laser also added that Diddy is an imperfect person but he is not a criminal. He also added that Mr. Combs has been cooperative with this investigation and Mr Combs voluntarily relocated to New York last week in prediction with these charges.
Combs faces plenty of civil lawsuits, including allegations that he raped an underage girl and also tried to groom a procedure. Also, there is an allegation that Mr Combs has forced the producer to have sex with another man.
Mr Combs’s Attorney said on Monday night that Mr Combs is looking forward to cleaning his name in the court.
The musician’s legal issues started in November 2023 when Ms Ventura filed her lawsuit. Two other women also filed their lawsuits alleging assault and abuse in the same week.
There is another allegation about the raper that he has choked a woman for so long that she passed out.
Mr. Combs denied all the allegations and a spokesperson for the rapper called the lawsuits a “money grab”. Combs and his lawyers have always denied all the allegations.
