London has not experienced the best of Liam Gallagher. The waits are finally over as Oasis return to London and have started the first of seven sold-out nights at Wembley.
Liam and his brother Noel have finally decided to take the stage hand-in-hand, and it was approximately 16 years to the day since they last played in the stadium.
In September, Oasis confirmed their reunion gigs were fixed to take place across the UK. As fans prepared to spend thousands on tickets, they said, “This is it, this is happening”.
After that, North American dates were revealed. The brothers declared they were playing in Toronto, Mexico City, New Jersey, and Chicago across August and September.
The years-long wait ended earlier this month. Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher ticked off the year’s buzziest tour in Cardiff. The duo were playing together for the first time in over 16 years for a massive crowd in Wales.
However, on Friday, it was for London. Oasis at Wembley Stadium was vibrating with charm and excitement ahead of their arrival on the stage. Liam was the centre stage for all the possible reasons.
The 90,000-strong crowd remained on their feet at Wembley Stadium throughout the show as songs like Cast No Shadow, Talk Tonight, and Cigarettes & Alcohol rocked the stage.
Oasis paid tribute to the late Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, who died after his final gig.
When Oasis finished playing Live Forever, a picture of a heavy metal vocalist was projected on the stage. After that, the band dedicated their next song, Rock and Roll Star, to Osbourne.
Liam quickly added that he wanted to dedicate that song to Ozzy Osbourne as the first chords of the song, Rock and Roll Star rang out.
It seemed impossible that the band would ever play together at one stage.
However, their last year’s announcement of reconnection made a wave of hope among their fan base.
Liam tells the crowd, “Nice one for making this happen”. Liam stood arms out wide, and a tambourine on his head as he finished a song. There was a fireworks display, and the crowd was making their way out.
It seems the Oasis fanbase has also become mature over time. The crowd described the performance as “amazing”; however, some incidents of clashes between groups took place across the stage.
Many fans are excited about the reunion, and many of them enjoyed the concert and were respectful.
