PlayStation Plus is set to refresh its free games lineup for April 2026, but UK subscribers will have to wait a little longer than usual. Sony has shifted the usual first Tuesday reveal to April 1, with the new titles going live for download on Tuesday, April 7, at around 4:30 pm BST. This change means the March games, including PGA Tour 2K25, Monster Hunter Rise, Slime Rancher 2, and The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road, will stay on the service an extra few days before they leave.
The headline game already looks set to be the dark fantasy action-RPG Lords of the Fallen (2023). Trusted leaker Billbil-kun and several gaming sites report that this “Souls-like” ARPG will lead the April Essential drop, giving UK PS4 and PS5 players a chance to claim a polished, combat-heavy adventure at no extra cost. The title is expected to be available alongside at least two to three other games, keeping the recent pattern of four-game monthly lineups.
For people on Essential, Extra, or Premium in the UK, the April games will be free to download as long as they claim them before the end of the promo window and keep their subscription active. Unlike the Extra and Premium catalogues, which rotate whole slates of titles, the monthly Essential games require a quick claim step on the PS Store page or via the console. Once downloaded, these titles remain playable only while the subscription runs, which is an important detail for those thinking of skipping the line-up.
The April 2026 batch is shaping up to be a meaty, story-driven month. Lords of the Fallen fits this trend, offering a challenging, lore-heavy campaign with multiple endings and a strong emphasis on build-crafting. UK players who enjoy FromSoftware-style combat but want something not on the PS Plus catalogue already may find this one of the more attractive free pickups so far this year.
Sony’s change to the April timing is also being framed as a chance for UK fans to finish the current line-up. The March games include a polished sports sim in PGA Tour 2K25, the co-op-ready monster hunting of Monster Hunter Rise, and the light-hearted base building of Slime Rancher 2. With the new April titles not arriving until April 7, British subscribers still have time to grab and play March games if they have not yet done so.
The PlayStation Plus April 2026 line-up is shaping up as a solid, slightly delayed upgrade for UK gamers. The confirmed early leak of Lords of the Fallen as the headliner, plus the usual rule of “claim before the month ends,” means interested players should mark April 1 and April 7 in their calendars. As long as they are on any PS Plus tier and act quickly, UK subscribers can add several new full-price titles to their library at no extra cost this spring.
