Sony’s PlayStation network has gone down due to server connectivity issues since Monday. Users on all PlayStation devices are unable to log in or create new accounts. Sony has confirmed a global outage on its support page.
Gamers face difficulties launching games and accessing networking features. On Monday, multiple reports from PlayStation users reported facing network issues while trying to load the system.
On the official website of PlayStation, it says that people are facing issues while signing in and launching the system. It says that the affected platforms include PS3, PS4, PS5, PS Vita, and the web.
According to the Down Detector, 88% of the reports confirmed the users are facing problems with the PlayStation server. On the other hand, 8% said that they are facing issues with downloading and 4% said that they are unable to load the website.
Many PlayStation users shared screenshots of the error they faced on social media. The sudden outage is still unresolved and according to the PlayStation Server Status page, Account Management, Gaming and Social, and PlayStation Store, all these services are down.
It seems Sony is working on fixing the issue and it has been in that status for a long time. However, the PlayStation network status has been down from 30th September and is still ongoing.
There is a message on the Sony PSN status support page, “You might have difficulties launching games, apps, or network features. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible”.
The outage has affected gaming as well as network features on PlayStation. Gamers are unable to access multi-player games or any single-player games that require online connectivity.
Users identified the error as “PS5 error code WS-116522-7”. However, the offline games that don’t require any online connectivity, are working fine.
Sony has not confirmed the cause of the issue and the estimated time when the problem will be solved.
Apart from the message on the status support page, Sony has not made any official comment regarding this issue.
Gamers are requested to keep an eye on the updates from Sony as the company works on resolving the disruption as early as possible.
